Computer Teacher Resume
|
Finding a great computer teacher job starts with creating and formatting a resume that highlights technical skills and teaching abilities. Resumes are the best way to impress potential employers and communicate specific qualifications for the position that is being applied for. When creating a computer teacher resume, be sure to include only information that is relevant to the position.
Education and Training
Regardless of the kind of computer teaching position you are applying for, most employers will require their applicants to have some kind of basic level of education in order to qualify them to be considered for employment. You will need to include a list of completed education or training programs that qualify you in the field of computers, such as any relevant undergraduate or online degrees that deal with computers. Computer Science, Computer Programming, and Computer Engineering Degrees would be examples of degrees a potential employer may be looking for. Start with the most recent program completed, which is usually the highest level of education, and work backwards to include all relevant education or training that covers all the qualifications necessary for the job.
Professional Work Experience to List
Individuals applying for computer teaching positions may, or may not, have any previous relevant work experience which they can include in their resume. If you have worked as a computer teacher before, or if you have professional experience working with computers in some other capacity, you will need to include this information in the work experience segment of your computer teacher resume. Make sure that you are only including previous work positions that are relevant to the position being sought.
Short Informative Job Descriptions
After making a list of the relevant past work positions you should include short, but informative, descriptions after each previous job that you have included. Some things to include in the descriptions of those jobs include past leadership experience, requirements of your previous jobs, and any notable achievements that you earned during your time working in those positions. You can also include more specific information such as what operating systems you are familiar with, which would include Windows, Mac and Linux. Also list your typing speed and any software programs you are proficient at using such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
Teaching Experience
Since teaching is such an important part of any computer teacher’s job you should put some effort into showing potential employers why you would make a great teacher. This section of your computer teacher resume should elaborate on any teaching position that you have mentioned in the work experience section. You should include information such as age of the students, size of your previous classes, and preferred teaching styles like lecture based, visual aided or a hands-on approach.
Make sure that you are formatting your computer teacher resume to the specific position that you are applying for. It can be a good exercise to try to imagine what potential employers would be looking for in your resume and then try to include that information. Additionally, if you are having a hard time formatting the resume, you can search for computer teacher resume samples and templates online for a better understanding of where to start.
