Practical Experience and Training
Some of the practical training of procedural dermatology fellowships involves active training in surgery, including removing tumors through to reconstructive surgery procedures. Requirements include being certified in dermatology with an M.D. or equivalent qualification and having completed either a pathology residency or a certified ACGME dermatology residency. For research fellowships in the dermatology field the minimum requirement is four years of medical school and a keen interest in pursuing dermatology as their chosen medical field.
