Financial Details
Both the Master’s and the PhD Engineering Fellowship pay a salary across a year of $10,000 and $14,000 respectively as well as a paid summer internship with a GEM Employer Member (two internships for the Master’s.) They both have fees and tuition waived for any GEM University. In most cases, Doctoral fellows receive several thousand dollars more than Master’s fellows. For general engineering fellowships, the salary is paid monthly with extra grants available for travel and other costs.

One of the more fascinating opportunities for an engineering fellowship comes from the Department of Defense, for applicants who demonstrate a special capability for “advanced training in science and engineering” for the purpose of pursing a PhD.
