Most resume writing experts say NEVER include a resume objective. While others (in the minority) say a resume objective is an essential element on every professional resume.

Why Not to use a Resume Objective

Resume objectives are most often self-serving. They say what you want, but they usually fail to say how you and your skills are relevant to the employer and resume reader. The company that hires you is more interested in the specific benefits you will provide to the comapmy, not how they can be of service to you..

Another problem is that a most resume objectives can be limiting. The company probably will not even consider you as a candidate if you have written in your resume objective that you’re only interested in one type of job.

Also most resume objectives are so general and communicate little to the resume reader. Why waste your most valuable resume real estate with something that will not help and probably hurt your chances of being interviewed for the position you are applying for.
